I'm around, if you want a demo though you'd be better off with Jag/Rob.

I'll play heavy if Rob switches to Demo but I guess a straightforward swap makes more sense.

Here's my demos from the game. We lost on badlands pretty badly, but won 3-2 on granary.

Was a nightmare, but everything is almost sorted. For some reason it deleted my essay and some system files for a laugh requiring about 8 hours of my time to fix.

I watched the match last night.

A few things to say - I was quite surprised at how disorganised you all seemed. I heard how Hez was saying they were very good players but, watching from the sidelines, they didn't have that much on you guys except for the fact that they always had two people defending their medic, that they focus their spam on Adel, that they were all probably playing their best classes. These are all things you guys could've done. I can understand that, after a lame start because of delays with recording demos and whatnot, they had the upperhand but after that, what happened? You guys are better players. One of their two scouts is potentially as good or better than Grem, Rob should have been a solly 100% of the time because, to be fair, he could rape anyone that way. Trane, you may not be comfortable with being a demo but you're a strong heavy and probably should've stayed as one the whole time. Yes, demos are useful - maybe essential - to Badlands but... you guys could've put up more of a fight. Especially after it was obvious that when you felt there was no point in putting up a fight, you just half-assed your way through to the end.

I was raging at Hez whilst watching. It was just... so awful seeing all of you, except maybe Grem/Toasty, being so negative. Adel - the suggestion to use a kritz instead of an uber... why not give it a go? You thought you were going to lose anyway, what's the point in not trying anything different? It would have been a good way to see how they can handle an enemy kritz for future reference, at the very least. Rob, Hez was telling you to go soldier. I agree with him that as things stand today, you're a better solly than him, hands down.

I think a huge issue with why things went so badly last night is because, although I totally understand and appreciate that snuke is about having fun, you guys tend to rage about losing. I know Hez was trying to let you all do your own thing last night but... come on. If you're all going to be a bunch of skilled players aiming for the same goal but doing your own thing, don't bother raging or feeling 'meh' about the end results. One of you, in any match, needs to take point as leader. It's all well and good to have fun and not mind but if you're doing league matches where they clearly take the games seriously, put in the extra effort to work as a team with a leader not as a bunch of friends half-assing a game. snuke is full of skilled players and when you lot work as a team, you pretty much rape anyone. Sort out your leadership issues. Sort out your class issues.

I'm not going to bother reading through my post yet, so I apologize for the copious amounts of commas and long sentences.

Also, I apologize for pulling out of the game at the last minute.

Yeah, I do rage about losing, and it's gotten me in trouble with other clans I've been in in the past. Believe me, you in snuke haven't seen how Adel gets after a really bad loss streak! By past standards, I'm being incredibly positive and non-ragey, seriously!

And yeah, we didn't have much in the way of tactics as a team, adjusting very very slowly when things went wrong.

And wrt the Kritz, imo a Kritz needs the 2 sollies to use it on to work well - normal uber is much better to push with the heavy with, and it would have been too awkward to change teams around again at that point. Plus I know how to use a normal uber in a match but have never tried a kritz...starting when we were getting owned didn't seem like a good plan.

But yeah, we just need more tactics as a team...more comms, so we know where we all are, where the enemy is, who to focus our fire on, etc etc.To which I should probably contribute more as medic, but I had my attention taken up enough staying alive that match! Trane did start calling pushes, directions and stuff which was handy, and Hez did some as usual, but perhaps we could use an overall tactics caller. Shame we don't have Jag playing more actually, he shouts stuff out on vent for sure!

My point was that you all seemed to be under the impression that you'd lost anyway so fuck it... then why not try something new? It's not like it would've made things worse. For all you know, might've made it better! I think you should practice using a kritz. Might actually be better than you think. Who knows?

Give it a go! Idea

Badlands was just terrible.

I've never felt so ineffective in a team tbh, but I'm not whining. Playing demo 6vs6 is a lot more subtle than what I'm used to on Doomy's.

I honestly think this is a good kick up the arse for us.

Granary was tough, but I am actually really positive about how we stuck together and adhered to their tactics, albeit slightly later than it should have been, we did play well despite whatever bad feelings you may have about it.

Chillout guys, turn the page.

I wrote a massive post on my laptop and then i pressed the back key for some awesome reason, and lost everything.

I agree with the fact that we need a designated tact caller. This could be someone who has an overall view of the map say Medic or one of the sollies, telling the team when to push, and when to fall back. In badlands I was trying to co-ordinate mini tacts with toasty about trying to take out their demo. It failed in the tact itself, but we communicated with each other, formulated a plan (aka going underneath and raping the demo) and we executed it. That in itself was an accomplishment. Same with rob and me in granary. One of the comm errors we had was in the second round of granary. I mentioned to rob (scout) about going right when we spawned, but the rest mistook it for a group order and ended up with half the team left and half the team right, which got us getting owned. This is something that can be solved easily with a tact caller, but matters during games.

As for organisation, yea, we were disorganised in Badlands. When we play weaker teams, our individual skills take care of things, and we steam roll them. Team play doesn't 'really' come into it as we win so fast and everyone thinks we did amazingly. But in tougher matches like the one against Trooper and 40 Degrees, it makes a world of difference. What we need is inter-team tactics as well. By that I mean, the two scouts have a set guideline what to do, where to go, what areas to hold etc per map, and then a second guideline for the medic+sollies. The demo unfortunately, due to his high mobility and fire power needs to know both and has to be a jack of all trades. So if the sollies know what they're doing, the scouts know what they're doing, everything sorta just falls into place, and we can be more effective as a team.

I am in the process of writing a tactics review for the scouts. I suggest the sollies do the same so that we know what to expect from each other during a game.

Amid all comments here we should remember we actually won the granary round btw!

We did claw things back on granary, and we did that with the normal uber. It's not like we thought "we've lost so fuck it" at all (well, OK, i did breifly think that once when I clicked yet another uber just too late and let trane die yet again...but only for a short while) - and I'm not gonna just switch ubers in the middle of a match when we're finally starting to actually win some rounds instead of just getting steamrolled.

The solly demos from badlands seem broken (won't load for me).

The scout ones on granary are amazing though. Solo-killing both enemy scouts at once? Shocked

I only remember doing that once, when they were on the second point and I was dodging around a pillar. I did seem to improve as the match went on though, I hadn't played scout in weeks.

I'll go reupload the soldier one in a sec, it works for me when I replay it.

Nah, there was another time as well, only they came one after another rather than both attacking you at once I think.

From the looks of that demo scouting went well on granary, but I have to say that you and grem are on the same screen only about 5% of the time, and by accident rather than design (it seems) even then, whereas their scouts seemed to stick together more. Their whole team stuck together more in fact...I think on the times you tried to hit their medic, it was enemy scouts stood next to him defending him more often than the sollies that stopped you - something we could probably benefit from if we blob up a bit more at certain times too.
