Tbh I don't really know how it'll work with getting frequent matches and so on once we get going, but I figure an awayness thread is useful to know when ppl can't play.

And I'm making it now 'cos I'm off on holiday day after tomorrow

I play too much poker online and occasionaly have to play cod4 matches. Otherwise, any day of the week other than fri/sat I can make

As of tonight, I'll be overclocking my PC after talking with Rob and discovering that my system was actually running about half as fast as the default speeds should be... (a 2.66Ghz Core2 running at only 2Ghz at the minute! and my Ram is also running slower due to this

So, if im not around tonight+tomorrow then I'm overclocking and making sure its stable any longer and I've probably burnt something out =]

I also had the problem that my processor was running both cores at 2ghz instead of 3ghz. Turns out there is some thing built into the chip that reduces its speed when not in use. I looked around and found a similar prob EIST and C1E were slowing the processor when idle and stepping it up when it needed to.Although I had to disable it in the bios because when I was running tf2 my cpu wasnt stepping up to max.

Well, after not very much effort at all (I was expecting to be pulling my CMOS jumper repeatedly like with my old AMD) I got my E6750 2.66Ghz stock, up to 3.6Ghz without breaking a sweat and without any additional voltage!

Left my RAM at its rated voltage and timings and thats running at 1080Mhz, just a little faster, and to be honest, I dont need to push it any further and spend more time making it that little bit faster (and hotter).

After a slight issue with my ATI settings, got my TF2 settings up to 1680x1050 with everything on High (apart from HDR/Bloom) and 8xAA and 16xAF running at a solid 60fps

Need to test a little more tonight to make sure it doesnt drop on a 24 man server as i was just messing around with about 16 but seems fantastic and TF2 looks great
