Hi Guys,
So here is the post, eXs shall once again feel our might but this time on cp_steel, so if you all want to discuss classes for steel and possible tactics (Sentry on last?) then go right ahead

Tactics wise, Steel I was thinking that maybe not a heavy as there is alot of moving quickly around and high/low ground that is difficult to move through spun up?
So maybe 2x scouts, 2x soldiers, demo and medic? Or change a scout/soldier for an engineer/demo2??

imo 2 demos since steel has so very many doorways and points and things that are good to sticky. Dropping a solly or scout. Argree about no heavy. A good engy managing to get a sentry up on each point in turn could slow them down quite a bit though...
For attacking, at least 2 scouts. There's gonna be ppl who don't know their way round steel perfectly (hell, I still don't, need to practise more) and scouts running all over will just make them cry.

Not sure what class though, it's not a map that suits Heavy.

I could really use a little team practise on steel before the match btw. I thought I knew my way around it now and knew the good spots, but I got lost yesterday while the enemy was capping E and basically lost us the game (I was a medic with an uber ready; you should have heard gov curse me as I ran around trying to find the bloody door to E) so I think maybe I DO need some more time on the map after all. If anyone's on tonight maybe we could jump on a random server playing steel for a few rounds - could even stack up as a whole team if there's enough of us on. Or change the snuke server to steel and try to lure some people onto it?

I figure if I play this one as medic, motiv can do the next, and so on. Should work OK swapping over like that.

Ye, depending on what happens, might be useful to get a demo in there (and if someone wants to train something up, demo seems to be a good choice ) so if Grem is busy/happy to sit out, might be good having you in the team poop for the demo skills. I'd give you my slot, but i want to pwn them eXs guys

Had a good, fast cap on Steel tonight on Doomys - went a bit like this:
Pile on to E via B straight from start
2 scouts - engy - medic - 2 demos (could be demo and solly)
Scouts cap E, demos sticky spawn, medic heals demos, engy builds tele/sentry (there's health + metal aplenty around E so dispenser not vital)
A decent pyro or demo can overpower a single demo spawncamp, so we need 2 plus med & sentry
Wait until sentry is up before starting to cap E
Doing this we won in a very fast time. As the ED game is based on time I guess speed is the only way to go..?

Dang they sure would rage at that! I'm not sure how steel works on competition mode but I'm pretty sure if we did that and they got all of the points individually then they would show on the scoreboard as having more total points, despite on ED its counted as per round win as 1 point.
We sure could give it a go if we play 2 rounds, perhaps save it for the second?

Hez I played against a very stacked team of eXs's on steel the day before yesterday, and that tactic for capping E straight off (demo stickying spawn, engy with sentry, 2 scouts on point, medic) is EXACTLY what they did (and yes, the owned us. We didn't even get out of spawn at all, basically). So I don't think we will be able to surprise them with it as a tactic (although it's still a good plan, just won't be a surprise and we should be expecting them to do it to us, too.
For defending, we should absolutely definitely have someone (probably 2 people...demo and scout perhaps?) go out through E and towards B to check out what's going on and slow them down if they all come that way giving the rest of us time to arrive.

But why send an engy to build a lvl 1 sentry that won't kill shit, when you can send a scout or other attacking class that might?
